Heather (Oleksy) Stinson, 89, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025. She was born on May 20, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Jesse and Geraldine (Schaffer) Winner. Heather was a devoted wife to her husband Brad Stinson and a loving mother and grandmother to her family.
Heather graduated from Fort Smith High School in Arkansas and spent many years as a school secretary at Anderson High School and Edgewood Elementary. A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, she was known for her loving spirit and her knack for making everyone feel welcome. Heather had a passion for collecting various items, and she was always up for a good movie, a shopping trip, or traveling to new places. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and she dedicated much of her time to volunteering at St. John's gift shop and various other organizations in the community.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brad Stinson; her children, Craig (Michelle) Oleksy of Martinsville, Indiana, and Chris (Stephanie) Oleksy of Montgomery, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Laurie Oleksy of Scottsdale, Arizona; her brother-in-law, Ken Eaton of Austin, Texas; as well as her cherished grandchildren, CJ Oleksy, Bailey Oleksy, Kaleigh Boe, Ryan Oleksy, Brendan Oleksy, and Brittany Oleksy, along with three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Heather was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis Oleksy, and her beloved children, Steve and Scott Oleksy, as well as her sister, Laurie Eaton.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Heather's life. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, located at 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. Following the visitation, a Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Fr. Tom Metzger officiating.
