Gloria Jean Lusk, 81, of Cicero, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on August 18, 2026. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on April 1, 1945, to Norma Jean Elliott and Robert Edgar Elliott.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Norma Jean Morris and Robert Edgar Elliott.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Dennis Lusk; her brother, Larry Robert Elliott; her daughter, Julie Ferguson and her husband, Robert Ferguson; and her son, Jeffrey Lusk. She was a devoted and proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Hannah Ferguson, Katie Ferguson, Sydney Lusk, Kolbie Lusk, and Wyatt Lusk.
Gloria spent most of her adult life in Pendleton, Indiana, where she devoted herself to raising her family and creating a loving home. Twenty-four years ago, Gloria and Dennis moved to Cicero, where they enjoyed their retirement together on the lake. Their life there brought them many years of peaceful moments, cherished memories, and time together doing the things they loved.
Family was at the very heart of Gloria's life. She was an amazing mother who dedicated herself to raising her children and was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren. She loved her family deeply and took great pride in watching her children and grandchildren grow. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and loyal friend who treasured the relationships she built throughout her life.
Gloria loved to travel and had a special place in her heart for the beach. She loved the sunshine, the sound of the waves, and the memories made while traveling with the people she loved. She also had a love for snow skiing and enjoyed the adventure and excitement of being on the slopes. She enjoyed playing tennis with her friends and was a longtime member of Pendleton First United Methodist Church.
Gloria faced life's challenges with remarkable strength and courage, including surviving breast cancer twice. Her strength and resilience were an inspiration to those who knew and loved her. Through every challenge, she continued to live with love, determination, and an appreciation for the people who meant the most to her.
Gloria will be remembered for her warmth, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She brought joy to the lives of those around her and created a lifetime of memories with the people she loved. She was deeply loved and adored by her family and friends, and her absence will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely and the family to whom she devoted her life. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and friends, and she will remain forever in the hearts of all who loved her.
