Gene Keith Stanley

Gene K. Stanley, 98, of Anderson, passed away on May 17, 2020 at his residence. He was born on December 2, 1921 in Anderson to the late Harry and Fairy (Vandyke) Stanley. Gene graduated from Anderson High School in 1939. He served his country in the Coast Guard on the USS DD Poole 151 as a singleman. He retired from the Anderson Newspapers after 31 years of service. Gene was a member of the American Legion of Anderson, Anderson Elks, and a past member of the Anderson VFW. He was an avid golfer. Gene is survived by his children, Pamela (Gary) Musselman of Noblesville, Martin “Skip” (Kathy) Stanley of Anderson, Kyle Shields (Alvin) of Anderson; grandchildren, Dawn (Ron) Coverdale, Robert (Kristy) Musselman, Amy (Justin) Hittle-Rusher, Michael (Kaitlien) Musselman, Rachael (David) Motsinger, Shane (Lindsey) Hollowell, Megan (Zach) Hollowell;14 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine Stanley; and a brother, Harry Stanley Jr. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
