It is with a mix of sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Fredrick "Fred" Stephenson, who left this world on August 12, 2025. Born on February 27, 1941, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late John Stephenson and Edna (Maupin) Morrow.

Fred dedicated his career to painting, proudly working for Eli Lilly. His skilled craftsmanship was a testament to his work ethic and attention to detail.

A true sports enthusiast, Fred's heart beat for NASCAR, where he found joy in both the races and the camaraderie that came with it. He was an avid supporter of Indiana University and the Indianapolis Colts, passionately cheering for his teams through every victory and defeat. Fred was an avid pool player and was involved with many pool leagues during his time. He was affectionately known as "Fast Freddy" when he was playing.

His love for classic cars and antiquing reflected his appreciation for timeless treasures and the stories they held.

He often enjoyed the serene beauty of Pendleton Falls Park, where he found solace and joy in nature's embrace, and where cherished memories with family and friends were made.

Fred cherished spending time with his beloved wife, Marcia (Spegal) Stephenson, and together they created a warm and welcoming home.

Family was at the core of Fred's life; he treasured every moment spent with them.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marcia; children, Doug Stephenson and Debbie (Peter) O'Connell; grandchildren, Kera (Jon), Devan (Jay) Albright, Jessica Stephenson, Jordan (Sam) Morrissey, and Kaylin Johnson; great-grandchildren, Madison, Jade, Aiden, Jon, Layla, and Harley; and numerous brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his father, John; mother and step-father, Edna and Salmo Morrow; and siblings, Buck, Jack, Everett, Gene, JoAnn, and Jackie.

To honor Fred's remarkable life, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date with his brother-in-law, Dennis Spegal, officiating. Please check back for updated service information.

Fred's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes.
