Estel M. Standlee Jr.

Estel M. “JR” Standlee Jr., 62, of Anderson, passed away May 16, 2016 at IU Health/Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

Estel was born January 20, 1954, in Pittsburg, Kansas to Estel Standlee Sr. and Margaret Goodhall Johnson.

He was a devoted husband and father and a faithful member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, and the Incarnation Catholic Church in Louisville KY, where he served as a Eucharist minister. Estel worked as a terminal manager for several trucking companies, and loved to spend his spare time on the golf course.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Standlee; their children, Estel (Sara) Standlee III., Joseph (Carrie) Standlee, Amity (Nathon) Owens, Brandon (Tiffany) Standlee, Heather (Justin) Bassett, and Hilary Standlee; 10 grandsons, Alex, Drake, Gavin, Grant, Connor, Haydon, Quinn, Griffon, Kase, Kameron; 3 granddaughters, Sydney, Gabriella, Rylan; mother, Margaret Johnson; brothers, Charles Standlee and James Standlee; sisters, Jeanine Blessant, Sandi (Kerry) Wozniak, Patricia Huston, Becky (Mark) Herford, Tara Standlee, and Tamara (Jay) Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church officiated by his best friends, Father Christian Moore and Father Donald Halpin.

Visitation will be 10-12 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with a Rosary at 11:45.
