Ella Mae Perkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated friend, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on September 26, 1941, in Paoli, Indiana, Ella was a vibrant spirit whose love for her family and friends illuminated every life she touched.
Ella was proud of her accomplishments as a welder, where she demonstrated skill and determination in a field not traditionally occupied by women.
Ella was a devoted family woman who cherished the moments shared with her loved ones. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, nurturing their dreams, and celebrating their achievements. In her leisure time, Ella enjoyed online computer games, especially participating in exhilarating online Euchre tournaments and playing Pogo Games. These activities brought her joy and connected her with friends across the miles.
Ella Mae Perkins will be remembered as a loving and spirited individual who celebrated life in all its forms. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Terry Perkins, George "Clis" Perkins, and Nikki Perkins; daughter outlaw, Tracey Perkins; son outlaw, Norman Cole; grandchildren, Hannah (Ashley), Chelsea (Jake), Abigail, Orin, Dale (Rachael), Jacob, Destynne (Daniel), Stephanie (Matt), Sydney (Geoffrey), and Gaven; great-grandchildren, Everly, Chandler, Blakely, Hudson, Justice, Elyjah, Brinnley, Caleb, Sophia, and Colton; sisters, Roberta Ash and Janice Smock; sister-in-law, Mona Stroud; and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Stroud; mother and step-father, Anna (Strange) and Francis Quinlin; husband of 54 years, George "Georgie" Perkins; and brother, Larry Stroud.
Funeral services for Ella Mae Perkins will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 2 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. A visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Whetstone Cemetery, Anderson, IN. Ella's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes.
