It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Edwina Sweet, who left us on October 14, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on September 24, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio, Edwina graduated from Trotwood-Madison High School in 1972 and became a beloved figure in her community as a dedicated Corporate Security Investigator, with NCR Corporation.
Edwina was a vibrant spirit who truly embraced life. She was a proud member of Heart and Soul Church in Fishers, Indiana, where she found joy and fellowship. Her many passions included, spending time at the beach, traveling, thrifting, dancing, and baking-activities that brought her endless joy and allowed her to connect with those she loved. Above all, Edwina cherished spending time with her family, and her warmth will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her two proud sons, Logan (Jessica) Sargent of Fishers and Eric (Blair) Brown of Prosper, Texas; her partner Edd Helton; her siblings Ron Graves, Delina Sweet, Regina Ellis, Chuck Sweet, and Scott Sweet; and her seven grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Stevie (Cole) Bankert, Trinity (Xavier) Ellis, Dylan Sargent, Makayla Sargent, Brinley Sargent, Wyatt Brown, and Mason Brown; and a great grandchild, Luke Bankert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Loretta (Stanley) Sweet.
In honor of Edwina's life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel with Rob Mifflin officiating. We invite all who knew her to join us in celebrating the vibrant life she lived and the love she shared from 2-3pm Saturday prior to the service.
There will also be a celebration of life on the 2nd weekend in November in the general Dayton, Ohio area. Location and time will be determined.
Edwina, your spirit will live on in each of us. You will be missed more than words can express.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations to CJD Foundation, or Heart and Soul Church, in Memory of Edwina Sweet. Online condolences may be shared at bozellfuneralhomes.com
