Edith M. Massey, 93, of Anderson, passed away August 17, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born April 7, 1924, in Swifton, Ark, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Huskey) Hensley. Besides being a homemaker, Edith had been employed as a sales clerk for the Woolworth Company. However her love and devotion was always directed toward her family. She enjoyed being with them, taking care of them and cooking for them. Her amazing loving heart extended to many other people including the families she babysat for over the years. She is survived by children; Larry (Shirley) Massey of Anderson, Betty (James) Allport, Jerry Massey both of Las Vegas, Nev., and Johnny (Sherry) Massey of Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Massey; 19 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bruce Massey; a son, David Massey; daughter, Sharon Holland; a grandson, Marty Hogge; granddaughters, Diane Allport and Teresa Massey Maiwald; and her brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with a Celebration of Life at 7:30 p.m.
