Edgar Allyn Sharpe

Edgar Allyn Sharpe, 77, of Lapel, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville following an extended illness.

He was born on July 3, 1949, in Milton, West Virginia to James Harvey and Vada Lee (Fitzwater) Sharpe. He was a graduate of Lapel High School. He retired as general manager in car sales and was a corporate pilot and flight instructor. 

He was the owner of Sharpe Buick, Pontiac, GMC Truck and Sharpe's Auto Sales. He was a race car driver and was very adventurous. He loved flying, that was his passion.

Edgar is survived by four children, Tammy (Darrell) Richardson, LeeAnn (Scott) Heinlein, Bryan (Kamesa) Sharpe and Andrea (Aaron) Sharpe; two siblings, Rebecca "Becky" (Dave) Woodward and Nancy Allen; eight grandchildren, Mitchell, Jon Ross, Luke, Brooks, Tyler, Connor, Makia and Marley; and three great-grandchildren, Emma Ann, Carson and Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Stephen J. Sharpe; a brother-in-law, Dean Richard Allen; and a niece, Bethany Grace Allen.

A private service will be held Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Aaron Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
