Earl Brooks McKinney, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson. Born on August 3, 1941, in Elizabethton, TN, to Edgar McKinney and Anna (Powell) Evans, Earl lived a life full of love and dedication.

Earl graduated from Anderson High School and served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He found his partner in life, Janet (Rariden) McKinney, and they spent a wonderful 59 years together, building a family and creating countless memories. 

For many years, Earl worked as a Senior Supervisor at Delco Remy, a division of General Motors. He was known for his strong work ethic and was a dedicated provider for his family. Beyond his professional life, Earl had a passion for sports, particularly golf, where he celebrated the joy of hitting two hole-in-ones. His heart was always in the right place, as he lovingly coached his son Ray in various sports, putting family first in everything he did.

Despite facing health challenges, including open heart surgery, Earl remained committed to his rehabilitation for 20 years, demonstrating his unwavering strength and determination. He also served as a caretaker for both his mother and mother-in-law for many years, showcasing the kind of loving spirit that defined him.

Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Janet McKinney and his son, Ray McKinney. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 10:30am at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, 6805 Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd. Anderson, Indiana 46013. Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory has been entrusted to Earl's services.
