Douglas R. Riley

June 24, 1950 — September 17, 2026

Pendleton, Indiana

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Douglas R. Riley. Doug, 76, of Pendleton, left us on September 17, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. Born on June 24, 1950, in Anderson, Indiana, he was a beloved son of the late Esmond "Bill" and Lois (Von Dielingen) Riley.

Doug was married to his best friend and partner of 56 years, Theresa "Teri" Riley, who stood by his side through thick and thin. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, he carried that sense of duty and camaraderie with him throughout his life. He was a member with AMVETS and even served as an officer, always passionate about giving back to the community that he loved.

In his downtime, Doug could be found enjoying the great outdoors, boating, fishing, and tending to his farming pursuits. He had a love for life that was contagious and spent his days making memories with friends and family.

Doug is survived by his wife, Teri; his sister, Rhoda (Mike) Miller; nieces and nephews, Kelly (Joe) Bellovary, Kari (Howard) Waltzer, Aaron Riley, and Karla (Jeffrey) Kaczur; great-nieces and nephews, Dr. Bryanne (Dr. Andrew Wells) Bellovary, Michele (Bradley) Gudith, Lauren (Christian) DeMarsico, and Megan Kaczur; great-great-niece, Camryn Gudith; and sister in law, Diannah Riley.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Riley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the AMVETS in Pendleton.
