Donald B. Poe

Donald B. Poe, 76, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson following an extended illness.

He was born on December 7, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert Bruce and Joe Ann (Anderson) Poe. He was a 1968 graduate of Daleville High School. He retired from Marsh Supermarkets after 35 years. He was also a realtor with F.C. Tucker for 17 years.

He was a member of Perkinsville Community Church. He was also a member of the Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge #77 F & A.M. and the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with friends and enjoying a beer together, watching sports and spending time in the outdoors. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, and especially loved to travel with Hanna.

Donald is survived by his wife, Hannelore "Hanna" (Gascho) Poe; two sons, David (wife, Stephanie) Poe of Greenwood and Matthew (wife, Beth) Poe; two stepchildren, Seth (wife, Arika) Estep of Anderson and Michelle (husband, Justin) Harrison of Noblesville; ten grandchildren, Eli, Allison, Kayla, Carson, Rylee, Corbin, Austin, Emmett, Jayce and Asher; a sister, Kris Polak of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews including Russell (wife, Tasha) Polak and Nick Polak; and a great-niece, Grace.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Joe; and a stepson, Nathan Estep.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Nathan McDade officiating. Burial will follow at Perkinsville Cemetery in Anderson.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be conducted by Mt Moriah Masonic Lodge #77 F & A.M. at 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
