Daris L. Crull

1937 — September 11, 2025

Anderson

Daris L. Crull was welcomed into heaven by her Savior Jesus Christ on September 11th, 2025. She is now at rest in the arms of Jesus where her life continues for eternity.

Daris was born in Anderson in 1937. She graduated from Anderson High in 1955 and married Maurice Crull on July 6th, 1958.

Daris was a loving, gentle and kind woman who loved the Lord. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she touched. She was active in women’s ministry at Emmanuel Church in Pendleton for decades. After moving to Anderson, Maurice and Daris were members at AFC (Anderson First Church of the Nazarene.)

Daris’ love for her children and her quick wit defined her. Daris was often a few minutes late for work where she was a utility clerk at the Town of Pendleton. Once confronted by her boss, she quickly apologized, "I'm sorry Jack, I’ll make up for it by leaving early.” Daris always wanted to make sure Jeff and Tim were set up for success for the day before going to work, sometimes those boys made her late, but she always got the job done with excellence and never lost sight of her life’s priorities.

Daris loved to read. Her favorite authors were Erma Bombeck and Jan Karon. She cherished doing puzzles and playing Mexican Train with family. She also enjoyed flowers, something her daughter-in-law ensured were abundant at her home. She treasured hanging out in the backyard swimming pool with family and friends. She and Maurice made many memories together with her sister Ann and brother-in-law Russell traveling around the country and wintering in Florida.

She was an amazing boy’s Mom and enjoyed taking the family on weekend trips to Riverfront Stadium watching the Big Red Machine where she would joyfully endure arriving at the game two hours early, sitting through a doubleheader, and staying two hours after for the boys to get autographs. Mom was happiest when her boys were happy

She is survived by sons, Tim and Jeff (Lisa); grandsons, Justin (Molly) and Jason (Meghan); great grandson, Cooper; and sister-in-law, Virginia Schlarb.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; parents, Paul and Letha Dudgeon; and sister, Ann Dennis.

The family is grateful for the care provided by Legacy Home Care under the leadership of Katrina Dial and Merry Melton for the last 6 years. They allowed us to deliver Mom and Dad’s desire to live out their final chapter on earth at home. Katrina became Daris’ very best friend.

We are also grateful to the AFC church community who came alongside Daris especially during Dad’s recovery and provided countless hours of transportation, food, endless love and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Community Center @ AFC, 2324 Jackson St., Anderson, IN 46016 (Online Donation).
