Connie Lynn Rector

Connie Lynn Rector, 80, a longtime resident of Pendleton, passed away on August 16, 2026 at her home. Connie was born on August 30, 1945 in Anderson to the late Wayne and Eileen (Rumler) Scott.

Connie graduated from Pendleton High School in 1963 and then went on to obtain her masters degree from Ball State University. Connie owned and operated Gaia Herbals and Wholistic Center for over 25 years right in the heart of downtown Pendleton.

A true lover of nature, Connie enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was teaching yoga in Falls Park or sitting under a tree when life got tough, you could always find her outside. Connie enjoyed art, traveling, and cross country skiing. She was a certified Reiki Energy Healer and her positive energy drew so many people to her.

Left to cherish her memories is her former husband and dear friend, Joseph Kent Rector; sister, Cindy McNutt; niece, Mandi (Devin) Griffith; great-nephews, Blake and Gavin Griffith; childhood friend, Michelle Brandle; and a host of extended friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Shawn Edward Rector; sister, Susie Conner; and brother, Cary Scott.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Connie's caregivers, Kynsie Justice, Codi Goodpaster, Kat Meister, Susan Humes, Anabelle Goodpaster and Lexi Goodpaster, for their unending love, care, and support of Connie.

Cremation rites have been accorded and at this time, no services have been scheduled. Memorial donations in Connie's name may be gifted to Mounds State Park (4306 Mounds Road, Anderson, IN 46017), Pendleton Artists Society (119 W State Street, Pendleton, IN 46064), or the Pendleton Historical Museum (P.O.
