Charles Russell Rider, 94, of Anderson, Indiana died May 13, 2025.
He was born May 22, 1930, in Knightstown, Indiana to the late Earl and Ida Mae (Durham) Rider and was a longtime Anderson resident. Charles was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Charles retired from Delco Remy, Anderson as a utilityman in 1993 following 40 years’ service.
He was a member of Madison Masonic Lodge #44 F.& A.M., Pendleton for over 50 years and was a past master. Member of Middletown York Rite Masons and Pendleton Chapter #138 Order of the Eastern Star. Charter member of Foot Loose (Square Dance Club) and an avid fisherman. He was a clown, known as “Boom Boom” and “Candy Man”; having taught three clown classes. He also enjoyed riding his “trike” motorcycle.
Survivors include sons, Randy L. Rider and Ricky J. Rider, both of Anderson; sister, Donna Henderson of Gnaw Bone; several grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a great great granddaughter.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil Rider; and daughter, Melissa A. Reed.
Masonic Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with burial following in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown, Indiana.
Visitation from 12 to 2 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2025, at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
