It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles E. McConnell, Jr., who left us on November 14, 2025, just a week after celebrating his 74th birthday. Born on November 7, 1951, in Anderson, Indiana, Chuck spent his life making cherished memories with family and friends.

Chuck was educated in Anderson, attending St. Mary's Catholic School, graduating from Anderson High School before earning his Master's Degree at Ball State University. He dedicated his career to Farm Bureau as a Claims Adjuster, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and clients alike.

A proud member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Chuck was a man of faith and service. He was a past Grand Knight and served as the financial secretary at the Knights of Columbus, where he made lasting friendships and countless contributions to the community.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Margaret "Peggy" (Stowe) McConnell, and a loving family that includes stepchildren, Keith (Maria) Hastings, Julia (Robert) Brown, and Elizabeth (Randy) Brown; step-grandson, Mason Ritchhart. He will be missed by his brothers, Paul (Young) McConnell and Frank (Amy) McConnell, half-brother Kent Levi McConnell, and half-sister Heather Dawn McConnell. Chuck is also survived by his step-mother, Nancy McConnell, as well as nieces & nephews, Johnny,Tommy, Molly and Lucy and several great nieces nephews, who brought him endless joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. McConnell, Sr. and Irene (Kotoki) McConnell; nephew, Eric McConnell and sister, Ruth McConnell.

Chuck had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and occasionally hunting and gardening. He was also an avid reader and had a deep appreciation for music. He also was an avid fan of Notre Dame and Indiana University football and the Chicago Cubs. Above all, Chuck cherished his family and the moments spent together.

He will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A public viewing will be held on November 21, 2025, at 11:00-1pm at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2801 Lincoln Street, Anderson, Indiana 46016, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM, led by Father Tom Metzger. Chuck will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Funeral Services are entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel.
