Charles F. Holden

Charles F. Holden, 86, of Shirley, Indiana, passed away August 4, 2025, at his residence in Shirley, Indiana after a brief illness.

He was born on January 11, 1939, in Hamilton, Ohio to William Holden and Viola Holden (Nickel).

He retired from International Harvester, now Navistar.

Charles enjoyed farming, NASCAR, and square dancing.

Charles is survived by his wife, Betty (Simmons) Holden of Shirley; three children, Betty Jo Rush (Jon) of Noblesville, Joyce (Roger) Gill of Shirley, and Bob (Kim) Holden of Shirley; brothers and sisters, David (Marlene) Nickel, Richard Nickel, Linda Hof, Rita Rady, and Debbie (Keith) Dudas; grandchildren, Gina (Tom), Josh (Chelsea), Courtney (Matt), and CJ (Charles Jerry); great-grandchildren, Gracie, Ross, Isabelle, Liv, Eli, Max, Knox, Noah, Ashlyn, Lily, Leah, Elizabeth, and Ben. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Holden; grandson, Caleb Gill; and son-in-law, Randy Rush.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes- Condo Chapel, 130 S. Main St. Wilkinson, Indiana, with Pastor Lance Stevens officiating. Burial will take place at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, Indiana.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
