Cathy M. Matney, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 18, 2026, at her home in Anderson, Indiana. Born on January 24, 1958, Cathy was a lifelong resident of the Anderson community, where she touched the lives of many.
Cathy graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 1977 and spent her life as a homemaker, dedicated to creating a warm and loving home for her family. She had a zest for life, enjoying crafting, thrifting at Goodwill, and attending music festivals. She cherished her dogs and loved spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren- Precious (Nathaniel) Baker, Daawan Baker, Nevaeh Palmer, and Channing Palmer-who will carry forward her spirit.
She is survived by her loving mother, Frances (Perry) Davis; her daughter, Meghan Palmer; her siblings, Michael (Cheryl) Sheets, DeAnna Hunter, Terry (Patzi) Sheets, Tina Sheets-Peek, Billy (Theresa) Sheets and Kerry (Tracey) Davis; along with several nieces and nephews and her best friend, John Walker.
Cathy was preceded in death by her step-father, Frank Davis; father, Billy A. Sheets; sister, Deborah Tousaint; brother-in-law, Jesse Hunter and furbaby, Snowball.
Cathy's warmth and kindness will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Funeral services to celebrate Cathy's life will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory- Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson 46013. A visitation will be held prior from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery. We invite all of her friends and family to join in honoring the vibrant spirit she brought into our lives. We encourage everyone who loved Cathy to come together to share stories, laughter, and memories.
