It is with heavy hearts but also with immense love that we announce the passing of the incredible Catherine (Kay) Fair, who graced us with her presence for 94 beautiful years. Catherine journeyed through this life from May 3, 1931, in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, to her peaceful departure on February 21, 2026, in her beloved home in Indianapolis.
Catherine was full of love and warmth, always caring for those around her, primarily as a dedicated homemaker. Married to her dear husband, Harvey, a proud member of the United States Air Force, she embraced the life of a military wife with grace and enthusiasm. Together, they shared countless adventures and memories that shaped their incredible family life.
Catherine's generous heart extended beyond her family. She poured her life into various volunteer organizations throughout Indianapolis, always ready to lend a helping hand. As a devoted member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, her faith shone bright, guiding her kindness and compassion.
Known for her welcoming nature, Catherine had a unique ability to make each person feel special. She cherished being a host, turning her home into a sanctuary of laughter, friendship, and love, ensuring no one ever felt left out.
Catherine is survived by her children, Beverly Karen McMeans, Denise (Steven) Bohnert, Carolyn (Stephen) Boyle, and Tina Sullivan; Sister, Linda Greige; Grandchildren, Kelly (Steve) Graves, Heather (Todd) Colwell, Christopher (Stefanie) Bohnert, Brittany (Hamilton) Clark, April (Nick) Waterhouse, Kelsey (Daniel) Ledbetter, and Tracy Sullivan; She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her spouse, Harvey R. Fair, Jr.
A mass of christian burial will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026 starting at 1:00pm at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 550 North Rural Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46201, with Rev. Jeffrey Dufresne officiating.
Burial will conclude services at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
