Carolyn L. Wilson, 94, of Lapel, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following a brief illness.
She was born on October 6, 1931, in Strawtown, Indiana in Hamilton County to Volney Barnett and Emma Marie (Green) Rich. She was a 1949 graduate of Lapel High School. She was a faithful supporter of the Lapel Bulldogs and she especially loved to watch her grandchildren participate in all of their activities. She was a clerk at the Lapel Post Office for 20 years. She was also a farmer's wife.She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel. She was also a member of the Three Notes Singing Group, and the Lapel Lady Lions Club. Carolyn and Bob spent summers at their vacation home on Lake Webster since 1975, building memories with their family whom she loved deeply.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Steve (wife Pam) Wilson and their children, Brett, Kelly and Felicia; Mike (wife, Judy) Wilson and their children, R.J., Monica, Andrew, Alexis and Destiny; Angie (husband, Jimmie) Howell and their children, Jennifer, Courtney and J.R.; and Lisa (husband, Jeff) Johnson and their children, Stacy and Todd; thirteen great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert Lee "Bob" Wilson; her parents; and four siblings, Garland Dean Rich, Volney Rex Rich, Emma Jean Whetsel and Vera Belle Cook.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Scott Taylor and Mike Lyon officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the funeral home.
