Carol Frances Tonyes

Carol Frances Tonyes, 91, of Anderson, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness.

She was born on May 12, 1934, in Muncie, Indiana to Scott Hazard and Edna Mae (Lewis) Elkins. She was a graduate of Lapel High School. She retired from Lapel Telephone in 1991 as a switchboard operator.

She was a member of Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel where she was a member of the ladies bible study group. She lived in Louisiana for 23 years while married to Lee Walden who passed away in 2005.

Carol is survived by two daughters, Diana Haskins of Knox and Donna Patterson of Anderson; nine grandchildren, Shay Haskins, Chris Waymire, Jason Waymire, Jesse Waymire, Todd (wife, Lisa) Patterson, Hope (husband, Rod) Foley, Kasi (husband, Steve) Decker and Nikki (husband, Antonio) Viurquiz, and Ryan (Significant other, Hannah) Patterson; two step-sons, Mike (wife, Debby) Tonyes and Bradley Tonyes; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Husbands, John James Tonyes, and Lee Walden; a daughter, Deborah Lynn Shuck; two brothers, Stanley Knecht and William Knecht; and a Son-in-law, Paul Haskins.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 10:00am - 12:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051.

A funeral service will follow visitation starting at 12:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Aaron Taylor officiating.
