Carl E. Reynolds, 74, of Shirley, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born on January 2, 1952, in North Vernon to William Reynolds and Genava (Bowman) Reynolds. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and the United States Army after several years of honorable service, including during the Vietnam War.
He was formerly a house parent at the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Children's Home in Carthage and was formerly a correctional officer.
He was a member of the Shirley Masonic Lodge #531, the Greenfield VFW Post #2693, and the Knightstown American Legion Post #152.
Carl is survived by his wife whom he married July 28, 2000, Janice Lee (Willis) Reynolds; his children, Brent Turner, Trent (wife, Christie) Turner, Heather (husband, Rodney) Williams, Justin (wife, Kerri) Reynolds, and Sabrina (husband, Josh) Miller; his grandchildren, Joseph (wife, Brittany) Montgomery, Chalista Nicole (husband, Landon) Wall, Samuel Miller, Calliope Miller, Megan Saunders, Olivia Saunders, Madison Turner, Meghan Turner, Amanda McKinney, Brittany Turner, Samantha Turner, Zachary Turner, Jocie Turner, Alexis Turner; several great-grandchildren; a brother, William E. Reynolds Jr; a sisters, Jeanette J. "Jan" Williams and Leanne Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Hudson; and a brother-in-law, William Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Condo Chapel, 130 South Main Street, Wilkinson, Indiana 46186 with Pastor Darrell Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Curry's Chapel Cemetery in Greenfield. Military graveside rites will be conducted active-duty honor guard assisted by the Knightstown American Legion Post #152 honor guard.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the funeral home. A masonic service will be conducted at the funeral at 7:00 PM.
