Bruce G. Powell, 63, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, after a strong and brave battle with cancer. Born on October 27, 1962, to Phillip G. Powell and Loretta (Kimmerling) Powell, Bruce was a lifelong resident of Anderson.
Bruce graduated from Anderson High School and later married the love of his life, Teresa Welch. Together, they built a beautiful life and just recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. Their love and partnership showed dedication and happiness throughout Bruce's life.
An avid sports fan, Bruce could always be found cheering for the Indianapolis Colts or following the latest in NASCAR. He also had a talent for drawing, a passion he picked up during his illness. Bruce was a familiar face in the community, working as a manager at McDonald's for 45 years, where he made many friends and memories.
Bruce loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and had fond memories of his days wrestling in high school, along with his involvement in Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Powell; Two children, Kerri (Adam) Fuson and Katlynn (Daytrean) Casey-Powell; Three siblings, Kim (Rodney) Creager, Mindy (Brett) Spangler, and Brad (Holly) Powell; Three grandchildren, Landyn, Kaylani, and Daytrean, Jr.; Sisters-in-law, Missy Spearman and Kelly (Bret) Johnson; and Father-in-law, Jim Welch.
Bruce is preceded in death by his mother, Loretta (Kimmerling) Powell; Mother-in-law, Marilyn Welch; Brothers-in-law, Jimmy Welch and Glenn Spearman; and one granddaughter, Eliona Powell-Casey.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.
A funeral service will follow visitation at the funeral home starting at 1:00pm. Burial will conclude services at East Maplewood Cemetery.
