Brian Paul Jones earned his wings Sunday night, surrounded by family and friends after battling a lifelong illness. Brian was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Cincinnati Reds. He spent countless hours as a volunteer for the Lady Arabian Softball Team alongside brother-in-law, coach Rob Davis and his nieces Kinzie and Kylie. Brian was especially fond of watching aspiring young athletes compete and grow into honorable members of society.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jones Jr.; step-father, Joseph Riley; and grandparents, Bill and Marjorie Knotts, Robert Jones, Sr., Della and Clifford Wilson, Everett Scott, and Bernice Riley. He is survived by mother, Carol Riley; brother, Troy (Sandy) Jones; sisters, Julie (Rob) Davis and Kellie (Clint) Borgman; nieces, Kinzie and Kylie Davis, Harlee (Anabelle) Jones; nephew, Riley Borgman; special friend, Bad Brian Burns; and his cats, Ivy and Kenny.
Brian was a graduate of Pendleton Heights class of 1991, attended Indiana State University and retired from Carrington Homes. Brian was a member of the Sons of Amvets post 26 and Sons of American Legion post 341. Brian was a volunteer at Wheeler Mission and a member of East 91st Street Christian Church. Brian enjoyed playing euchre with his friends and attending Lake Melissa Campground with his family. He also had an extreme love of music.
Brian was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to so many. Although his body continued to fail him, he made sure to show up every day and provide for the people that he loved, always making them laugh. We are all very lucky to have known and be loved by Brian.
Visitation hours for Brian will be Saturday, March 4th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm with a service, officiated by Gary Cable, immediately following at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory in Anderson.
