It is with profound sadness, yet with deep faith in the Resurrection, that we announce the passing of Brian Andrew Buckner, who returned to the Lord far too soon at the age of 47. A devoted father, beloved son, dear brother, and loyal friend, Brian lived his life with a generous spirit and a kind heart.
Born and raised in Anderson, Indiana, Brian went on to pursue his education with dedication, earning degrees from both Marion College and Indiana Wesleyan University.
He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and is survived by his two cherished daughters, Carolina and Sophia, who were the absolute center of his world. He is also lovingly remembered by his former wife and dedicated co-parent, Sarah Grondin, his parents Ron and Carol (Sokol) Buckner, and his brothers, John and Kevin (Maria), along with a wide circle of extended family and friends.
Brian's life was a testament to his love for his family. Above all else, his proudest achievement was being a father. He poured his heart into guiding, supporting, and loving his girls, mirroring the unconditional love of our Heavenly Father. His memory will forever be a guiding light in their lives.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 10:00am at St Mary's Catholic Church, 302 E 11th St, Anderson, IN 46016. Burial will conclude services at East Maplewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Vincent de Paul of Anderson, Susan G Komen, or that Holy Masses be offered for the repose of his soul.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
