Brett R. Bowers, 38, was called to heaven on Dec. 26, 2025. He was born on July 5, 1987 in Houston, TX. He graduated from Concord High School (Elkhart, IN) in 2006 and proudly served his country as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy and Marine Corps from 2008 - 2013. During his years of service, Brett was deployed overseas to Afghanistan and Okinawa, where he cared for and supported his fellow service members with compassion, bravery, and strength. His commitment to his brothers- and sisters-in-arms was a reflection of who he was - loyal, selfless, and deeply protective of those he loved. He was currently employed as at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Brett is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ron & Susan Konopinski (Anderson, IN); his grandmother, Norma Robison (Elkhart, IN); his aunt, Sally Robison (Elkhart, IN); his sister, Nicole (Jeff) Keith (Lapel, IN); his stepsisters, Katrina Konopinski & Alison (Matt) Kidwell (South Bend, IN); brother-in-law, Mark Wilson (Elkhart, IN) and his nieces and nephews - Kaden, Eli, Aubree, Keira, Dane, Emily, and Avery - all of whom adored him and will forever cherish his memory. He is also survived by his beloved French Bulldog, Nina, who was his baby and brought him great comfort and companionship.
He joins in eternal rest with his father, Stephen D. Bowers; his grandfathers, Ned Robison and Dorman Bowers; and his grandmother, Barbara Bowers, who passed before him.
Those who knew Brett will remember his sharp wit, warm heart, and determination to do everything his own way. He worked hard in recent years to build a life he was proud of, facing challenges with determination and hope for the future. His family and friends will hold close the memories of his humor, strong will and unwavering love for those closest to him.
