Billy Lee "Bill" Jarvis Sr.

Billy Lee "Bill" Jarvis Sr., 79, of Lapel, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness. 

He was born on June 8, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana to Rosemary Jarvis. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He retired after many years of being a truck driver and mechanic in the construction industry. He was a member of Central Community Chapel in Anderson. 

Bill is survived by his wife whom he married August 1, 1981, Deborah Kay "Debbie" (Hobbs) Jarvis; two sons, Aaron Jarvis and Billy Lee (wife, Telisa) Jarvis Jr.; a daughter, Barbara Ann (husband, Kenny) Myrick; a sister, Dorothy Weston; a sister-in-law, Penny (husband, Jim) Hormell; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by four children, Dana Marie Jarvis, Darrell W. Jarvis, Donald R. Jarvis and Ronald T. Jarvis; one grandson, Justin L. Parkhurst; his mother; and his grandparents who raised, Thomas and Hazel (Mathis) Hosier; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Lavonne Hobbs; and a sister-in-law, Becky Sue Orbik.. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Lapel American Legion Post #212. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the funeral home.
