Betty June Deck

Betty June Deck, 93, of Knightstown, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Greenfield Healthcare Center in Greenfield, following an extended illness. 

She was born on July 29, 1933, in Milledgeville, Georgia to Robert and Eudelle (Henry) Marsh. She was a graduate of Midway High School in Hardwick, Georgia. She went on to earn her associate's degree from Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was a homemaker. She was also a librarian at Johnson Bible College, a substitute teacher and had worked at Colonial Crest Nursing Home.

She was a member of Shirley Christian Church in Shirley, Indiana. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was an avid reader and loved flowers. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Deborah Jefferson of Carmel and Darlene Wilburn of Shirley; a sister, Jackie Brown of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Darrell Deck; her son, David Deck; her parents; two son-in-laws, William A. Jefferson and William A. Wilburn; and a sister, Bonnie Snow. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Condo Chapel, 130 South Main Street, Wilkinson, Indiana 46186 with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, Indiana. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the funeral home.
