Bernard (Bernie) Staggenburg, 90, of Dublin, OH formerly of Anderson, Indiana passed away with his daughters by his side on March 29, 2026.He was born on April 14, 1935, in Anderson, Indiana to Herman and Katheryn (Anderson) Staggenburg.Bernie graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1953, where he met his future wife, Annette. He graduated from Purdue University in 1957 with a degree in Finance, and immediately following graduation, he spent the first six months of his married life at Fort Sill in Oklahoma as a Reserve Commissioned Artillery Officer in the U.S. Army. Bernie retired from the Delco Remy division of General Motors as an Assistant Controller in Finance after 35 years of service.

Bernie was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he was the head of the Finance Committee for 20 years; a member of the Knights of Columbus and Anderson Elks Lodge; and served on the Board of Directors of the Hopewell Center. He was a 25-year Indianapolis Colts season ticket holder, and he loved spending time at Lake Shafer, reading and golfing.Bernie is survived by two daughters, Susan Stuart of Plain City, Ohio, and Jennifer Staggenburg of Wabash, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Annette (Broderick) Staggenburg; two sons, Phillip and Bruce; his parents; sister, Josephene Sellers; and several aunts and uncles.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anderson, Indiana with Rev. Tom Metzger officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, Indiana.Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in the Annex of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Anderson or to a charity of your choice
