Barbara L. Messersmith

Barbara L. Messersmith, 86, of Pendleton, Indiana, left us on December 23, 2025. She was born on May 14, 1939, in Middletown, Indiana, to the late Vaughn and Allyne (McMillen) Alspaugh. A proud graduate of Anderson High School's class of 1957, Barbara spent a significant part of her working life at Delco Remy. 

Barbara attended Fall Creek Christian Church and was a member of the UAW Union Local 662. She enjoyed bowling in four different leagues and had a passion for amateur skating competitions.

Barbara is survived by her son, Terry Messersmith. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Gary Messersmith.

A Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026, at Fall Creek Christian Church, 1102 W. 700 S., Pendleton, Indiana. Followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. at the church. Burial to follow at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton.
