Barbara "Bobbie" Jean (Boyer) Hutton

Barbara "Bobbie" Jean (Boyer) Hutton, age 95, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 29, 2025. A woman of unwavering Christian faith and quiet strength, Barbara lived a life rooted in love, commitment, and service.

She was born on March 27, 1930, in Lebanon, Indiana, to the late Roscoe and Pauline Boyer. As the eldest of four children, Bobbie grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and devotion to family, values that would guide her for the rest of her life.

She graduated from Anderson High School in 1948, followed by marriage to her high school sweetheart, Frank E. Hutton, on May 9, 1948, in Anderson, Indiana. Together, they built a loving home and shared 77 years of marriage, a true testament to lifelong partnership. They raised two daughters and watched their family grow into five generations, with Bobbie becoming a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Bobbie worked for 23 years at Delco-Remy before retiring in 1981. Her professional life reflected the same dedication and consistency she brought to her family and faith.

She was a faithful member of South Meridian Church of God for over 60 years. Bobbie and Frank sang duets and volunteered with the youth group when first married. Later, Bobbie found a cherished community through the Women of the Church of God (WCG), where she generously offered her time and talents in support of ministry efforts. Some of her dearest and lifelong friendships were formed within this circle of faith.

She also had a lifelong love of dogs and they raised five cherished companions over the years. Together, they enjoyed camping trips with church friends and created lasting family memories at their lake cottage on Beaver Dam Lake in northern Indiana.

Bobbie will be fondly remembered for her handmade quilts, delicious homemade noodles and pies, and her love of music, especially hymns & southern gospel music. She had a special gift for creating a welcoming, beautiful home and making holidays meaningful for her family.

Bobbie's life was a reflection of her faith; steadfast, compassionate, and full of grace. Her love for her family, her quiet acts of kindness, and her enduring devotion to her beliefs leave a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Pauline Boyer; her brother, Harold Max Boyer; sister, Susie (Terry) Bailey; and her infant son, David.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca George of Alexandria and Connie (Greg) Nealis of Anderson; grandchildren, Chanda George-Hiatt of Summitville, Charity (Richard) Harvey of Chesterfield, Leslie Nealis of Lapel, and Chris (Christine) Nealis of Anderson; great-grandchildren, Hunter (Jayde) Hiatt of Charlestown, Aaliyah Hardy and Elasha Hardy of Lapel, Haiden Hiatt of Kokomo, Harrison Hiatt of Indianapolis, Dae'la Nunn of Lapel, Iva and Adalia Harvey of Chesterfield, and Austin, Finn, and Lowen Nealis of Anderson; great-great-grandchildren, Grace and Granger Hiatt of Charlestown, and Vegas Thomas of Lapel; sister, Ginny (Earl) Perkins; and a cousin, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Primrose and Elevate Hospice for the love and care they showed Barbara.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Bobbie touched are invited to a celebration of her life at Connection Pointe Church, 2702 W. 38th St, Anderson, IN 46011, on Monday, September 8, 2025. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton, Indiana.
