Ann Gayle (Dudgeon) Dennis, loving wife, mother, mawmaw, sister and friend, passed from this world at the age of 88, on July 14, 2023, after an extended illness. She was born August 25, 1934, in Jackson Michigan to O. Paul and Letha (Miller) Dudgeon. She lived all of her life in Anderson, IN.
She graduated from Anderson High School in 1952. Mom met the love of her life while in junior high school. She and Russell Dennis were married on August 30,1952 (as soon as they could after turning 18). They enjoyed 70 loving years of marriage and were together for 75 years. Our parents are to be commended for leaving our family a great example of love and marriage.
Although her life revolved around her family, she started a career in the 1970’s when she began working for Anderson Community Schools. From there she retired as a secretary after 20+ years. After retirement, Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling, shopping, attending Red’s games, and their winter home in Florida. These activities were lovingly shared with her sister and brother-in-law, Daris and Maurice Crull.
We will always remember the holiday family get togethers, especially Christmas, where mom was always sure the gifts and decorations were over the top.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia Thompson, Marsha Dennis (Paul, deceased), and Todd (Kristi) Dennis; eight grandchildren, Kyle (Jaque) Thompson, Erica (Dusty) Gilpin, Bryan Dennis, Rachel Dennis (Daniel Hoover), Shelby (Ryan) LaFlash, Hannah (fiancé, Michael Farmer) Dennis, Nathan Guffey, and Evan Guffey; ten great-grandchildren, Hunter, Stella, Nolan, Olivia, Dylan, Rowynn, Nash, Cameron, Lucas, and London; other surviving family members include, her sister, Daris (Dudgeon) Crull; sister-in-law, Janet Leach; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Patricia Dennis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Leon (Pat) and Thelma Dennis; husband, Russell A. Dennis; and son, Paul Dennis.
