Alvis "AJ" Johnson

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alvis "AJ" Marcellus Johnson, who left us on April 27, 2025, just three days after celebrating his 57th birthday. AJ was born on April 24, 1968, in St. Lucy, Florida, to Floyd and Gwendolyn Johnson.

AJ was known for his skills as a maintenance technician at Guerin Catholic High School, where he was admired for his dedication and work ethic. He had a passion for sports, loved riding his motorcycle, and enjoyed traveling whenever he got the chance. But most importantly, he cherished his family.

He is survived by his beloved fiance, Sandy Parrett; Children, Trey Johnson, Christian (Jazzlyn Atkins) Johnson, Sue (Patrick Barnett) Martin, Amber Parrett, Drew (Christa) Parrett, Dave (Emily) Martin, and Bobby Lowery; Cousins, Reggie Rembert, Gerald Fleming, and Bridget Williams; Grandchildren, Zyaire Johnson, Avonte Payne, Asia Payne, Amiyah Payne, Penelope Barnett, Presley Barnett, Payton Barnett, Finely Parrett, Lilly Parrett, and Presley Parrett; AJ is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

AJ is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gwendolen Johnson and Sonja Johnson; cousins, Connie Shoots and Cornelius Jarzis.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.

A celebration of life funeral service will follow visitation at the funeral home on Thursday starting at 7:00pm.
