Albert V. Schulte

Albert V. Schulte, 88, of Anderson, passed away on August 11, 2026.

Albert was born on January 12, 1938 in Anderson to the late Albert H. and Edna (Hiles) Schulte. He graduated from Markleville High School in 1956 and then went on to serve in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. Albert was working for the CXS railroad when he was drafted into the Army. While in the Army he sent many messages using morse code, warning of the Cuban Missiles crisis. After his Honorable Discharge from the Army he returned to work at the railroad. While working at the railroad, he attended Purdue night school where he earned his masters degree in Computer Programming. He worked for the railroad company for over 41 years where he was able to travel and teach safety classes on top of working as a clerk. 

A true racing fan at heart, Albert was able to travel all over the country, where he had reserved seats at every race he attended. He loved NASCAR, the Indy 500, Anderson Speedway, and so many more. He also enjoyed reading and going out to eat, especially with his family. Albert was a member of the Pendleton American Legion Post 117 and the Anderson American Legion Post 127 for 55 years. He was also a member of a travel group who visited many different parts of the world.

Left to cherish his memories are his siblings, David Schulte, Betty Schulte, and Nelda Carmack; his nephews and nieces, David Vernon Schulte, Trey (Carla) Snider, Ivy (Bob) Walsh, Kellie (Pat) Maddox, Shawn Snider, Jason (Jill) Carmack, and Jeff (Melissa) Carmack; and numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The funeral ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery following the funeral.
