Adonna "Joy" Hollars

Adonna (Joy) Hollars, 69, of Markleville, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at her home in Markleville, surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born on August 3, 1956, in Anderson, Indiana to Fredrick "Don" and Martha "Janet" (Blake) Myers. She was a graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. She was a manager at Tractor Supply for many years.

She was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene in New Castle. She loved all animals, but especially horses. She loved going to the lake were she enjoyed water skiing and boating, and loved anything flamingo's.

Joy is survived by her husband, Jerry Hollars of 47 years; a daughter, Veneca (husband, Wayne) Montgomery of New Castle; a son, Clint (wife, Keithea) Hollars of Carthage; five grandchildren, Kattie, Keith, Cheyenne, Riley and Jacey; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Jill Davidson of Markleville; a special niece, Kelli Bergstrom; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Ryan Foster. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Ovid Community Church, 793 East 600 South, Anderson, Indiana 46013 with Pastor John D. Delgado and Pastors Randy and Melinda Tooley officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday at the church.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Reddy, Susan Bozell and the staff at Community Hospital Cancer Center for the care they gave to Joy and her family.
